Big Thanks to Mark DTM
« on: 06 November 2008, 10:27:33 »

Would like to say a massive thanks to Mark DTM for coming round mine last night and replacing my cambelt. It took him no time at all and i was well impressed with his knowledge and skills and more than that he is a really top bloke.
Would also like to say a late thankyou to chrisdb for coming down and helping/doing my cam cover gaskets. Another really good guy.
And a thankyou to Robin Hood who kindly got the parts i needed using his Trade card.
The help i have had as been unbelievable and i have to say this forum is a great place to be a member of. Without OmegaOwners.com i would be stuffed.

thanks again to everyone involved in my troubles and thanks to the site and all of the great members

cheers
Steve

Your welcome.

A very close call given the state of the tensioner!

And I nearly broke my record for a V6 cambelt change without realy breaking a sweat  ;D

Clearly it was the original cambelt and tensioner setup..........which was 30K miles and 6 years overdue a change!  :o

1.5 hours with a water pump change.....outside under torch light  ;D

The thing that helped is that it was as original factory fit so no muppet complications from a previous change to hinder the progress plus its a 2.5 with no extended plenum setup.

Not bad I suppose!  ;D  ;D  ;D I've still got all the plenum of the car after the 'expert' a/c fitter removed it all. I've been trying to get my 4r$e into gear to put it back on since I got up this morning. There's always tomorrow! ::) It'll have to be, otherwise I'm going to Guy's in an Astra  ;D   :y

So how long do you think it would be to change the crankshaft seal and timing belt :y
