Unfortunately I don't have a trade card? Is it worth getting genuine vauxhall?

Yes, but only if you get it at Trade Club prices.. see if someone near you has TC? I am based in London and can help with anything you can send by post, but shipping a silencer will be too expensive I think.

Yes yes yes, get GM parts. Pattern sound awful. You really will regret it, and places like Kwik Fit will not be that much cheaper and they supply some nasty stuff!

I am sure you could get access to a TC card  ;)

Have a look at www.longlife.co.uk  is there one near you? they did me a bl00dy g00d job with a sweet big oval tailpipe for £389, custom made to fit, & mid sport option on the sound, well pleased.
I got trade quote & Kwikshit price for cat back system & they were both £290 best I could get, so for another ton, I got all stainless with a lifetime warranty  :y

No worries in a couple of years 'cos the 'Kwikfit shitter system' falls apart again  ::)

Happy new thingy

What's TC price for the back box on a 3.0 saloon pre-facelift (twin exit one)? Might bite the bullet and replace it in the hope of curing the 1500-2500 RPM drone that my crappy aftermarket system produces. Sad thing is that it's in good condition, must have been fitted not long before I bought the car.

Or you could ask Vx mechanic to fit is as a foreigner - he'll get it trade price & even with a decent bung for his trouble it'll cost less that you can buy it retail.  I often pop into the garage at closing time on a Saturday (1.30 up here) and ask for help - very friendly bunch.  :y
