I have just agonised over this and ended up changing from BT to ...... BT :)  They produced a cheaper plan than I was on (not difficult)and although it was a couple of quid a month more than the alternative, the minimal disruption in changing won it for me.     But of course it depends what you need and also whether you have Sky/cable etc. (we don't)

That's one of my worries ::) the thought of changing email address to things like OOF and Ebay.
We only have a rural landline, not particularly fast, perhaps I should contact BT and ask the question :y

Yeah I changed from BT to TalkTalk. Never had a problem with talk talk and saved a fortune with them compared with BT.

Will never go back to BT, things I could tell you about them and their dodgy business practices.

Used to spend £100 a month calling abroad, now £10 - £20

I have been using Talk Talk for nearly 2 years now with no problems and have saved an absolute fortune with all the free phone calls both at home and abroad!  Would never go back to BT.

Have been with talk talk for a year and have had no real problems. I did howver get a sky promotion card through the door a couple of days ago offering tv, phone and wireless broadband from 17pounds/mnth. Normally you would pay 10 pounds/month line rental but this is waived for the first 12 months. When my talk talk contract ends i think i'll be going back to sky

Yep, but after 12 months it goes up by £10.00 per month.

True but at least you have locked yourself in for a good deal for a year, at which point you can review the packages available from all providers

Fair point, how easy is it changing email address though, on forum and ebay for example?

I don't know im afraid - Hopefully someone will come along and advise soon.
Also if you have not done so you can always call bt telling them you are going to change, give them the details of your new package and see if they can match/beat it?
