I just scrapped a load of P4s as I couldn't give them away. Seems a waste, but guess P4s are bit long in the tooth now...

thanks for telling me that TB, im on a P4 & for some reason my connection drops & my modem goes dead, tried a new modem but still does it,its as like the usb2 ports are shutting down, other times it freezes up totally, have re-loaded windows xp pro etc & still no good so looking for something to replace this with as i suspect the motherboard is playing silly buggers :'(

Got a load more P4s I am having to take out of a business, but part of the deal is I have to destroy them (not just the disks) and dispose of. Shame, as all 3.2Ghz or higher, some dual cores as well.

The next lot, even assuming I could get away with not destroying them, are Dell Dimensions, thus BTX motherboards.  I'm guessing you have an ATX case, so wouldn't fit.

Hi

Please remember if your giving your computer away you should really remove all your personal files, photos etc from you disk. I work In IT/Data Security and i have seen so many PC's get chucked and people then say "oh year the kids pictures were on there" You can get a disk that will allow you to reset your password and then delete the files. Let me know if you want info

Cheers

Be aware that any software disk wipes are not that good, hence high security applications insist on disk destruction as part of decomission process.
