Now I love trees the same as the next person, but I have to say I am not so keen on the leaves at this time of the year.

I suppose its better than it has been. Myself and Mr Dusty recently had 13 50ft Poplar trees cut down, as the roots were getting underneath the house. Along with a lovely 70ft Sycamore tree that really had seen better days and was on its last legs.

This cutting, cost us over a £1000 in total (although we've got an awful lot of wood), yet still we are besieged by leaves, everywhere from the other trees in our garden.

As I say, love trees not so keen on leaves. Anyone agree?

I live on a privately managed road and we get the sweeper in twice a year. Yet again this year they came on the windiest day of the year before all the leaves had dropped so it looks no different at all!

Sorry Dusty, I don't have a big garden to tidy.

And I love Autumn. The colours, weather. And piece and quiet you get after the crowds from summer are gone.

Leaves falling and composting, getting ready to feed the marvel that is Spring. Part of the joy of life for me. What little I get.

tell him you saw his ebay auction on an Omega website.....oh and ask if he has a rear spoiler for an elite as well

Not gonna earn myself any macho points here but i love autumn. All the trees turn really cool colours, the sun's bright but low in the sky & the air's fresh, all the summer humidity has gone. Given my job i see it all.
  Tomorrow i leave the yard @ 6.30 for Thetford in Norfolk, all a roads through the lincs / e anglia fens, sleep for an hour or two while getting loaded then drive the same route home for the weekend. Easy life & i get paid to do it!!! 8-)

I miss the early hours runs in the winter...you get to see some beautiful scenery.... ...All i get to see now is the back service road in the buggy with the rubbish from overflowing bins and skips blowing about...

I really is a nice place to be at this time of the year! I love all the different colours about but don't get on well with the very short daylight hours. Unfortunately I suffer a little from SAD and this time of year it's a bit tough! Normally SWMBO tells me to stop being such a grumpy git and I manage to sort myself into some semblance of order

Im considering drastic action. Our neighbour moved in about 20 years ago and planted a eucalyptus tree in the top corner of his garden bordering ours. At the back of the gardens is a school field which is higher than ours and with the soil being mostly clay our gardens do get water logged which has meant the eucalyptus tree has thrived and is around 40ft high with 60% of the tree overhanging my garden. Because the bloke next door is a lazy barsteward (his timber framed windows haven't seen paint in 10 years) there is no chance of him getting the tree trimmed so its down to me. Im just waiting on the info as to what would happen if I trim the tree to our border which I am legally entitled to do, and the tree becomes unstable. TIMBER

In a previous house we had the same problem.

Asked our neighbour to cut back a large tree as it was banging against our windows in the wind.

He refused...... so we cut it back ourselves.

Made for a bad blood with our neighbours...but it had to be done. :-/
