Sorry - another couple of brief outages tonight
« on: 14 November 2008, 10:29:15 »

The current state of the forum is unacceptable - esp the issues around new posts and page jumping.  Even worse for those using IE6 (about time you upgraded ;D).  I have to use IE6 as primary browser at work, so understand the frustrations with the forum.

We have some new code to try, but has not been properly tested.  I'd love to go through thorough testing, but with the current problems, cannot afford to wait.

If it works (or improves things), all well and good. If not, we'll have to revert to current codebase, and go to plan B....

I think it is this attitude that has helped this become the best forum on the web.

Without you and the admins. time and effort the OOF wouldn't happen and for that I know all of us thank you. Looking at the recent posts there seem to be plenty of new members joining also:y

Fully agree, anything that has to be available 24*7 and has as good an 'up-time' as OOF has is doing well. Especially when it is a labour of love rather than a paid job

Recently 'learned up' and being more careful now, honestly.
Ummm except for where I fix one thing and break something else

I'm using FF as I find it better than IE. Also more convenient as the Lappy is a bit slow!

Thanks for all your hard work TB... Hopefully this update will resolve the problems for us :y :y :y

Might have been the images server on a go slow.  Images are held on a shared hosting service, thus can vary wildly in speed.
