How much is it worth? Omega Elite Facelift.
« on: 03 January 2009, 10:57:02 »

I have a friend that has a facelift Y registration 3.0 Elite that he will be selling shortly, it is a plum colour (persia maybe??) with cream leather, sat nav (not the colour display) and it is in fairly good original condition with no evidence of bodged body repairs etc - now the mileage is high at 160,000 and I can't see any mention of a cambelt change in the service history as its just the service book and that only goes up to 120,000 miles, it also has an oil leak onto the exhuast manifold (breathers maybe) he isnt the most pro-active person when it comes to maintenance you might say.

I was thinking of making him an offer for it but what would you guys consider to be a fair price - I wouldn't be looking to punt it on at a profit but rather keep it as a "spare" in case my 3.2 has a major problem.

Sorry if this is posted in the wrong bit admin :)

Regards

offer wise given its condition and mileage, around £1100-£1200 i think, and i hope he doesnt get offended if you do offer him that, but the list price for a good condition 80k one is only £1400ish!

I agree Dusty, and there is no mention of the condition of tyres, exhaust, and it sounds it will need a major service with cam belt replacement and of course cam cover gasket replacement. ::) ::)

If you can do it yourself Darren, not too much of a problem, but if you have to rely on a garage it will cost a further MINIMUM £800++ ::) ::)

i have been up at BCA Tewkesbury & BCA Walsall & Merthyr Motor Auctions every week for the last 2 months looking at gettng a new miggy havent seen the right one yet but anyway!

they aint worth a great deal! facelifts fetch around £400-600 saloons trim level doesnt make much difference in price

prefacelifts! some dont even sell at the auctions!

if its an Estate then theyre values are still 4x figures

You are correct TMX......they don't fetch much..........but does that price include the horrendous auction charges........about £200 on a £1000 car last time I went. :y :y

Yes i could do most of it myself or get James up for a day as my 3.2 is due a belt change etc, the tyres, exhuast and brakes are all ok at the mo so no need to worry about those too much.

Will see what he says to £700 and go from there I think, thanks for all the replies - very hard to value these cars at the mo :)
