Well Jaime I like the way you have dropped it all onto OFCON and to be honest I agree that they are a totally useless incompetent bunch of tossers.

They are trying their hardest to screw up DTTV as well.

They need nuking >:(

in all honesty, having had first hand experience of ntl/virgin, bt sky and orange broadband/phone services, once things have got to the level your at, only usefull option is to leave, as its far more agro to sort out the mess for them, they wont, than it is to go through the new customer process with another provider.
With that level of incompetance, they cant claim to be suddenly on the ball when it comes to enforceing their contract with you. If that gets their attention you have a direct contact. Think along the lines of... Im quite happy to pay your bill, when you provide the service. No service no bill.

Overseas call centres are of no use, imho they are a
culdesac, a dead end, with no way out as, in my experience, they cant transfer you or communicate outside their own dept... hang up, only thing to do!
I wonder if they are paid by number and length of the calls they recieve?

I also wonder if  an advantage, of sorts, of the open reach situation is all providers go directly to open reach for repairs/faults, rather than through bt to open reach. They all have the"£100 fee if the fault is found to be on your property" clause enforced by open reach and, i was told, operators have to enform you of the fee by law.(they cant charge you if you dont let them in by the way, then fix the fault yourself, most people know a bt engineer)

In amongst the calls i did actually say i would cancel the contract....very sarcastic female (got the feeling she was a comfy shoe wearing man hater) said ""Fine go right a head but you"ll still have too pay your bills"" got disconnected shortly afterwards....they say that calls cant be terminated there end well they bloody well can and do. >:(

Thing is ive had managers stating the lines working and then 2 mins later speaking too someone else they say its not....next person it is....then the next asking what broadband i have, absolute bloody joke.

Id leave in an instance and go back too Virgin (just as crap) but signed up for sky (same time as BT) and under contract too have TV and Broadband (wasn't aware the broadband was a 12 month contract). :-/

Im promised Monday the open reach guys will have sorted....bet im back on the Phone Tuesday ""Ive got no sodding phone line"".

If not resolved Monday, ask for a manager, they have to get you one or arrange for a call back, demand it to be within an hour (allow for 2 hours) and take the full name of the person you spoke to.
If they do not do this, call back and ask to speak to the legal department. That will soon get a manager on the line.

Remember to keep a cool head and be polite, there is nothing worse than someone ranting down the phone at you. More bees come with honey than vinegar ;)

I used to work for Virgin Media (now working for the worlds local bank) and still have friends there but apart from the odd member of staff (and its the same for BT) most just come in take the call and go home and can't be arsed to do much else.

When dealing with BT always get the persons name, then if you should have cause to complain  you can refer to that named individual. Any complaint affects their (BT Employees) bonus structure - their pocket, they then become mindful of their need to satisfy a customer, providing they know what one is in the first place.....
