Spent the entire day going around the industrial estate practicing everything!

More confident turning the ER5 now, can turn it tigher, feel i have more control. gear changes becoming more natural and fluid.  

Still slipping/feathering the clutch in slow speed stuff, (turn in the road, fig of 8) but i also use it when in 2nd turning into junctions to keep the bike under control. Also when pulling out on first, its being feathered until i am on the correct side of the road.

Off to Banbury tomorrow learning the test routes!

Hope you Pass mate, sure you will enjoy Motorbikes.
The feeling you get riding a motorbike is just something else.  :)

balaclava solves that, trust me!

I have similar issue due to the speakers mounted in my lid...

Masking tape....  Gaffer tape is just a wee bit TOO sticky....   ;D

LOL - you just reminded me about our xmas piss-up.  I was asking one of the girls how they overcame 'chappel hat pegs' in that weather (it was bloody freezing).  She said sellotape, but apparently it really smarts when you take it off!

Don't even ask how we got on to the subject of her tits...

back on subject, even though it was -7.5 yesterday morning, and -6.0 degrees today my gear really kept me warm.

Barley got about freezing all day, half the people taking the DAS kept complaining they were soooo cold, i was just nice and snug.

Supposed to be even colder tomorrow!

All this bike talk is bad for the bank balance... I sold my CBR600FX to a dealer in Chelmsford almost exactly 4 years agm because my new house didn't have a garage! I've missed having a bike dearly since then but can't justify getting another untill I've got a garage and sorted out the 5 cars on the drive :o :o ::) ::)

Go through this every spring myself, since I sold my last bike abotu 4 years ago too............ ::) ::) ::)

Pull the chin straps out as you take your lid off. Fore finger and thumb to pull the straps away from your head/ear other 3 fingers and palm to lift the lid up and off. Never really thought about lid removal until you mentioned it.

Makes me laugh when you see actors take crash helmets on and off on the telly. Usually balance on head then reach up on top and pull down, looks like they fell off a horse and are protecting their head.
Then full palm print on the visor as they close it. Tut tut.
Boon and Mark Fouler of eastenders being a couple of exceptions.
Have a look at the CB 500 as well Tunnie, very similar bike, better build quality as its a Honda, handles well, will deck out the frame rails with sticky tires and decent rear sets no problem. Same bike Mr Toseland made his mark on in the CB 500 cup. Seen a few dispatchers lean em right over on the road. David silver spares alone make it worth paying a few quid extra for a Honda, far cheaper than a dealer for genuine parts as a rule last i looked, which is a while ago now tho.
To be honest you may see a few girls owning the Kawasaki.  :-X .... on second thoughts maybe the Kwack is a better idea after all. :-)  :y

As said to Tunnie previously, any of the 500 twins is a good starter.  The Honda is much more comfy over long distances than the kwacker, but then is a lot more expensive to buy 2nd hand for a good one.  Suzuki GS500 not bad either.
