not for yrs round here.  must be late 70s early 80s. had to walk to work as rds were so icy and the winters were heavy snow here. even wore gloves in the car as steerin wheel was that cold. im stocked up so wont leave the house till weekend after tomorrow morning

Yes and we even had snow last night in the South East, with light snow showers during the day!

i worked with a painter about 5 yrs ago who came from the north of norway, always went home xmas but couldnt go out as it was always around -15 to -20. reckons his family used to stock up on books to keep them going.

I think that the last really bad winter (proper winter)....was in 1963.
Only 3 years old .....so I don't really remember.....but that's what I have been told.

nope it was 1988-9ish their was 2/3ft of snow.

it was great from what i could remember took us hours to walk to the local shop which was only 1m away.

Yes in the June of one year in the South East in the 60s, but I am too young to remember the precise year!
