Weather Warning
« on: 01 February 2009, 03:00:12 »

Just watched the late news and weather.

Heard the North from Durham upwards, and the South East mentioned.

Snow coming over from Scandanavia and they have warned of snow drifts.

Monday to Wednesday was mentioned on the charts.  It may of course come to nothing.

Just be prepared, make sure your tyres are in good nick and make sure you have plenty of fuel in the car just in case.

Local news has just covered the weather and just said blizzrds on high ground.

Make thier minds up.

Either way, allways better to be prepared.   :y :y

Worst snow I have ever seen  (on the roads) was 1977 onwards as I was 16 and started work.  Learnt to drive in some of it.

But must admit people havent got a clue what to do when it snows these days.

In the 80's I had a Viva 3 door, had 3 series BMW rims on the back with Colway remould M&S tyres on.  Some of the best fun I have ever had.  Used to go out in the early hours when the roads were empty just to play in it.

I would love an old chevette (maybe with a bit more grunt) slap some cibies on and and play, but we dont get the ammount of snow as we used to.  Nice a fresh through the night, and then cleared and gritted for people to go to work in the morning.

On my wind-o-meter this morning, there are frequent gusts of 75 MPH with snow-flurries at a wind-chilled temp of -7C; if it 'really' snows, there`ll be terrible drifting......be careful everyone and keep safe/warm. :y
