iPod touch expert please

I cant get my free applications which i have loaded from iTunes store onto my laptop.
Now it says in the Help page that it will automatically sync. Now it does with songs no problem, but cant seem to get the applications over to my ipod touch. >:(

Any ideas please

within i tunes have you got the 'applications' box ticked

In iTunes, look on the toolbar for 'preferences' or 'settings' in there you will find a tickbox for 'applications'

tick that and it will sync them

sorry to sound vague but i am using a mac and i am sure the toolbar is different

Yes it is already ticked :(
It does say it should do it automatically >:(

I have read on the net that it might need to be upgraded on its software before it will accept any applications :-/
