road grit nearly gone

just herd on the news that they are running out of road grit
not good news if they do run out

its going to be dangerous out there :-/

Just had the same conversation with my mate.  Motorways are well stocked with grit in this area, but seems the local councils are all running short, wonder if they didnt budget for it to snow.

Apparently it's nearly run out in Hertfordshire, they're having to ration it at the moment and are going to have to source some from abroad.

Thing is in North America they hardly use gritters they just plough it off the roads  & keep on doing it then in many cities even  start on the pavements too !

Were way behind!

to many pot holes


Believe me I lived in Michigan/Indiana areas & there is pot holes there just like here some roads were terrible apart from Motorway type roads. :y

Up in the french alps on the m/ways they dont use salt as we do they use a saline solution which the spray out the back of trucks. plus they always seemed to go round in 3's all fitted with ploughs on front of the trucks. Only downside of that is when it dries out god does it make a right mess off your car or truck :( :(
