they do seam cheap, but the interiors just look ghastly, if your going for one, at least get the 4.0 V8 one!

Extra 60 bhp would rather get a chip than pay probably a grand premium for a 4.0 mind you the V8 does sound tempting.

Not a bad choice LSG. I think the S type is a far better car than the X type which I had (3.0 SE Auto)

Great car to drive, and handled beautifully with 4 wheel drive system. Sold it in the end because of constant electrical glitches.

Mine was a 2001 on a 51 plate and I sold it for £2750 :-* :-* :-*

S Types are relatively fine cars, however, dont get it expecting it to be cheap to run or buy parts for.

Running costs are shocking and they are not the quality car they should be........

I prefer the dash on the facelift S Types, I think they also sorted the handling out on the later models too.

I heard that S types before about 2000 aren't that great because that's about the time Jaguar convinced Ford they couldn't just slap yank tank suspension on it.

I think I would definatley like an S-type but to be honest I think that the T-reg one tomorrow will be too old tbh. May have to look about
Y-reg ish.

Why not an XJR? Better looking, cheaper, faster!
