Any photoshop gurus here?
« on: 17 January 2007, 23:21:00 »

I'm considering replacing my MV6 wheels with (ahem) Vectra C GSi ones. Mainly cos mine really need a refurb and these are going quite cheap, I think they'll look quite good on the Omega (certainly they can't look any worse than they do on the turd that is the Vectra C lol).

I was wondering if one of you gurus could mock up some photos of a pre-facelift MV6 with the aforementioned wheels so I can get an idea of how they'd look on the car.

There are some good pics of the wheels in this eBay ad. There are some pics of pre-facelift MV6s in the gallery, such as Pete's project here or MV6 Lee's (which is the same colour as mine) here.

Many thanks :y

I did this very very poor atempt on fireworks. I can see this ending up like Tony Harts gallery wall  ;D

Front wheel is ok but the rear has some alignment issues lol.

A slightly better effort if you look at the picture as a whole lol

I think the square rear wheel is a bit dated  :-?

Now the grand finale!!

Hope that last attempt helps as I am sure the 1st 2 do not lol ;)

Cheers Craig, good job!

I'm undecided though... anyone got any opinions? TBH given the choice I'd probably rather go for the facelift MV6 wheels but those are quite hard to come by and tend to have an over-inflated price tag in my experience.

Just noticed yours phate321, I hadn't refreshed the page when I put the last reply.

Cheers for that, yeah the rear wheel in the first pic looks a little, erm dangerous :D

I think they might actually look OK, I'm going to have a think about it, but I'm open to opinions from others in the meantime.

Cheers all!
Paul.

potential small fly in ointment....   Paul, have you checked the offset and PCD to make sure the wheels are actually compatible ???

(i've never tried swapping Vectra wheels for Omega ones....  so I've no idea whether or not it's an issue... but I thought i'd mention it before you spent money.....    )

I agree, the facelift Elite wheels are also very nice, IMO probably better than the MV6.

PCD and centre bore are identical on Vectra C (and V6 variants of the Vectra B also I believe). Offset is out by 2mm, no big deal.

Just noticed someone's selling a brand new set of these wheels on fleabay (no tyres though). Will be interesting to see what they go for.
