Coil per plug help

OK, not quite.

Rover, is has one seperate coil per 2 cylinders, but them coils plug in directly on top of the plug in a similar fashion to coil per plug Vauxhalls.

One of mine had no real connector to plug, just like a ballpoint pen type spring.  So I bought another, and its the same  :-?

The other coil on the engine has a proper connector similar to that found on a plug lead.

Is this normal?

Not worked on a 25 but not familiar with this on the 200`s ( but its been a while)

what particular one in sprung?

Part numbers the same on old and new - if so sounds like the norm  :-/

I thought the 200s/400s had a different setup, with the coil/distributor to one side of engine, not with 2 coils on top 2 of the plugs (and 2 short (6")) leads to other plugs?

No dizzy.  2 coils, sit directly on plugs 1 and 3, with short HT leads going to plugs 2 and 4 from these...

The only K series ones I've worked on had dizzy/leads....

Hrm.. you having probs with this ignition pack?

Don't know about Rovers, but loose springs are a common type of coil-on-plug setup.  Probably switched over to that style to save money.  Now those would supercede the old type and are what you get new.  Make sure that the little screw-on cap is on the spark plug (not bare threads), and you'll be fine.

Thanks - that a reassurance :y

Its just the other coil has a 'proper' connector in its plug connector...
