Thieving gits
« on: 21 February 2009, 16:50:01 »

Had my SIP laser mitre saw stolen on Thursday night from my garden shed. Neighbour also had a few bits taken.

OK, my fault. Neither shed, nor side gate were locked. Also my CCTV camera was not on. I used to record on a LP video tape, but after getting through about three tape players (naturally the heads wear out when used for 8 hours recording every day), I didn't bother to replace the last one.

Today I found a way of reading the camera signal through my USB TV card. I bought some software online which gives me motion detect and scheduling  :y, so my CCTV is back in business. Oh, and I found the keys for the shed padlock, so that's on again now.  :-[ :-[

(Don't anyone mention horses and stable doors)  >:( ;)

Its happened to me a long while ago.., and I've not had a shed since.  I didn't lose anything of great value but still couldn't afford to lose it.  I've not had a pressure washer since either (the item that was taken).

Hope the revamped security works.  Unfortunately, the one time we had a spate of break ins and it was filmed, the creatures who did it wore hoody's and nothing of use could be seen.

I didn't say before, but it not only happened to us, but using a pair of garden shears, taken from the shed, they leavered open a locked window and broke into our house! :'( :'( :'( :'(

I did that once on a property i was doing up.....i wasnt living there and once the neighbour nextdoor said she heard voices and moving about generally outside the property late at night.....i was in the middle of having an extension built so security wasnt very good......so on the inside underneath a window frame that didnt have a pvc unit in it......i hammered about 50 6" nails into a piece of plywood.....and left it carelessly spike side up  ::) ;D

oops sorry

only about £5 or £6 and can connect 4 cameras to each card
just run them on a old computer and you'll be fine
