Question for parents

My mother says that she the only person in the world that would put up with me rebuilding a cylinder head on the kitchen table :D

Would anyone else?  ::)

when I stayed with my folks i used to take engine parts up to my bedroom and have valves, bolts etc all over the floor, they "tolerated" it  ;D

Now that Im a parent, I wouldnt deny my son the experience of stripping a head on the kitchen table, some great father son bonding time to be had.

But I have a mate that says says when his lad leaves home he will go back to rebuilding bike engines on his dinning table in the living room.

yeah my dad did, he had the engine in the dining room from his volvo 144 de lux. he even cut a pice of lino up from the floor to make a gasket. about 1973 or 4 i think

Remember the guy on Top Gear that built the car in the dinnong room that Hamster interviewd, they had to cut the back wall out to remove the car. ;D ;D

Remember that ;D there was a wife involved but she did fit through the door quite nicely :D

Indeed it is, but bonding is a bit of a stong word for this house. More like shouting "where the f*ck did that spring go" ;D

i used to  clean and rebuild old cavi heads in my bathroom on the floor.
wife didnt like it but never complained

to be honest i wouldnt do it now

No me dad had to pay for a new living room carpet after the dog knocked the engine over off a Bsa a7 after he had finished rebuilding it and filling it of oil...... ;D ;D Apparantly the rent man had just knocked on the front door and the dog bolted past me dad and knocked the engine over.... ::) ::)
