I have to agree with "Dave's" take on this. How come the noble Lord got off with a much more lenient punishment? It's OK, I know the answer already. >:(

Is it all to do with his Title ???Nothing at all to do with his skin tone or religious outlook ( not wanting to offend any minotiries!).  And ... he is "Titled" -- which is far removed from being "Nobility" ( just a little bugbear of mine).  Over the years many titled individuals have been dealt with fairly ( as in equally to the rest of us) by the law, however I do think there is a combination of factors at play here.

Incidentally --- as his title is non-hereditary and given as some reward -- he should be stripped of it as well.

i agree. any titlerd person that commits an offence which is punishable by prison, should be stripped of there title and lose there right to membership of the commons and the house of lords. it just makes a mockery of the judicial system in britain. frigging sickening  >:( >:(

I don't think he was talking about the corridor outside his cell, either.

Reminds me of that old joke where a guy goes to his doctor and gets prescribed suppositories. He is instructed to put one in his back passage every morning.

Two week later he goes back to the doctor with his condition not at all improved. The doc asks if he has been using the prescription, he says, "Yes, I have been putting one in my back passage every day as you told me, but they are not doing me any good ..... and I keep slipping on them when I put the bins out!!"  :-/ ::)

I disagree with the website posted, the slant they have taken is practically racist.....

Dave is as per usual quoting out of context....The example he gave of the 21 year old who was jailed has no similarity to this.
The 21 year old was texting AT THE TIME OF THE ACCIDENT this guy was not he had been texting prior to but it was found that this was not the cause.
However the judge had chosen to take into consideration that Lord Ahmed had, at considerable risk to himself, tried to help the person he had just hit, who by the way had hit something in the outside lane of the road himself thus disabling his car, Lord Ahmed himself nearly getting hit in the process.

i still believe that the sentence was too lenient, yes it should have been longer, but i do not believe that it was because he was a Lord, and i do not believe that websites like that quoted do racial relation any good whatsoever
