Come across them twice now, might try to stop them next time. Probably stop behind him and run after.

First time slowed down gently to about 40 then 30 then 20 and really hard to 10 . Thought they were turning off - no just VERY slow.

Today caught up quickly recognised it so slowed right down as I passed where overtaking is normally impossible hitting nearly 3000rpm in first I noticed that the driver was about 70 now is he blind, stupid, drunk or what.

About 1/2 mile later when I slowed for a village just before a corner I saw some lights slow suddenly (in my rear view mirror), another driver found Mr Snail (with no lights) just after a tight corner!

He had done about 200 yards or so!!!!

I reckon driving on a 60mph road at 10mph at dusk with no lights is very stupid and I wonder when he will be in an accident.

BTW suddenly appeared last week and I use this route at least 3 times a week for the last 12 or so years.

Its a shame but im afraid to say older people who drive like that need to give driving up!

He should do that on is own accord though

Until someone really misjudges it and rams him, or a cyclist gets knocked off while overtaking him.

I'll get details next time and call the local Police for advice.

Unfortunately the elder generation do not realise that some of them are becoming a risk to other road users. They have driven for years most with no accidents or convictions, but this is usually due to other drivers avoiding them.
It is a problem I am going to have to cope with shortly, my 82yo mother is getting towards the point of not being safe. At least she has stopped going galavanting around the country and just stays local now. The action of taking the car from her is going to be devastating for both her and us, but it will have to be done in the not to near future for everyones safety.

Actually, he's gone the opposite way to my late Grandad before we convinced him to hang up his keys.

The more the cataracts grew the faster he went! I had to calmly point out once that we were about 400 yds from a row of cones on the M25, doing 95, and that he ought to consider  moving out of the fast lane because it was closed ahead.

Its not just the older generation.  Most of the people on my commute never get above 40mph.  Even on the dual carriageway (17m or so) I'm lucky to get over 60mph.

Accept it, don't let it get to you, there is no minimum speed limit on non motorway roads.

see if you can rewire one of your old keyfobs to turn off his pacemaker next time you see him.
