What I'd really like (and we're entering a parallel universe here, in terms of price and practicality) is a Scania!   ;D

got to be a scania 164 580 with all the bits, whistles and bells and the t cab  :y :y :y

Sounds good - except for the effing speed limiter!   >:(  Way outside my price range though.  If I remortgage the flat and eBay the grandkids I might be able to afford a 112 or 142, which apart from being more my sort of era would have the massive advantage of not needing a speed limiter.  No 56mph flat out! ;D ;D ;D

(Have a look on my website, www.cybertrucker.co.uk, to see what I think of speed limiters and why they're lethal.)
i know there lethal im a currently unemployd driver :'(

but thats why i said a 4 series i can get round it (naughty but faster) had a chiped 420 was up to 500bhp and it would fly up hills at 44t and poss of the clock  but it got sold and i had to move on :'(

Sounds like you two gentleman have like suffering from bad backs  ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) Give me a F16 any day of the week and i dont me a "macdonald douglas" one  8-) 8-) 8-) 8-)

Ah, the FH series - beautiful lorries!  (See my avatar on the left - one of the ones I drove on night trunk for BHS a dozen years ago.)  Only bad things about them is they're flat out at 56 MPratherH.  What a beauty that motor would have been if I could have actually driven it, instead of being the passenger holding the wheel...   :'(

Auto box on a lorry though?   The one on my tractor is bad enough - the thought of a limiter and an auto on a lorry is just too much to bear!  :o

16 gears, splitter and range change?  Easy!  ;D That's what it's all about, actually driving the vehicle, not just leaving it to get on with it and trying to stay awake.  Speed limiters are what finally made me give up driving lorries, and the auto box is the main reason I don't like my Omega.
