I had to make a trip up to Phillip Welch Specialist Cars yesterday. It’s just outside York. Paul, the mechanic, was waiting for me. Got straight on with things, asking me to demonstrate the problem. He had a fair idea of what it was but asked me to wait up to half an hour while he checked properly. Had a wander into to showroom, offered a coffee by Phillip. Had a look at his E-Type and a Bentley Arnarge that was up for sale. Five min later Paul was reversing the car out. He showed me the broken clip and explained its function. He said managed to find one lurking in the back so had replaced it already. I went to settle to bill and he kindly said ‘no charge’.
They may not be the cheapest but I don’t think they are particularly expensive either. What I can say is the service levels are fantastic and they have lots of experience dealing with executive cars and engines. If you’re not confident to DIY you’ll be in very safe hands there.
