vx astra .16. 8 valve

price quote for 1 rocker arm head gasket all seals oil and filter replaced ive got a quote for (£ 170 all in is that a good price )

Sounds pretty reasonable to me... In fact, it sounds too cheap! Is this just labour or supply and fit?

But it begs the question as to why only one rocker arm :-/ :-/ :-/

a mate of mine is doing work  :y and 1 rocker arm snapped in half all the rest are ok

Has it got a stuck valve?

Cant think of any other reason why the rocker would snap.

Check the guides carefuly once the head is removed!

just checked valve guide and valve all ok . rocker arm on no 4 cylinder exhuast valve badly worn through causing it to snap . cant see any other reason for it to snap all others ok  :-/

cam looks ok slight marking on the lobes but nothing to worry about  :y all looks fine . i think we will refit head and keep a check on it  ;)

You do know that you can do the rocker without taking the head off.....

yes i did know but wanted to check valve and guide . and did not have tool to decompress valves to take cam out . head just about to go back on now  :y fingers crossed all will be fine thanks for your info mark  :y
