Having watched one of our (taxi) drivers try to get to Caerphilly from Cardiff through a field (with fare onboard) nothing surprises me any more.

More or less word for word what I was going to say, come on, you must know if you are on a road.
It is my opinion that sat nav's are more dangerous than mobile phones the time people spend fiddling and looking whilst driving.
I will stick to map's thank you, though I will admit to looking up streets on the computer, print off and off I go. :y

I have no desire to defend SatNavs generally as they can be a BIG distraction quite apart from their 'errors of judgement' but I have found them useful in poor visibility for warning of sharp bends ahead etc.

I pride myself on an ability to navigate by sense of direction and these devices tend to de-skill drivers even where there were minimal skills in the first place.
