POLL: The purpose of the rear electric blind.
« on: 27 January 2007, 23:50:57 »

Who? (and be honest) has used their electric rear blind to snub another driver or as an act of defiance?

I've used it at night when some tw*t has come up behind me on full beam. Doesn't always get them to dip, though.

On a more serious note, the blinds are invaluable to keep the sun off the kids, especially new-borns that are in rear facing carry cots.

I have big bright letters "BACK OFF" attached to my blind, and I press the button to put it up when being (badly) tailgaited!

I also have a webcam that sometimes I put on the parcel shelf, so should I choose I could record anyone's tailgaiting antics/number plate using my laptop and show it to the police, in an extreme case.

Not standing for tossers on my tail anymore. Just because I keep to speed limits (and no, I don't dawdle...)

I used to use mine at night to cut down on dazzle from cars (too lazy to use the dipped mirror), but now I have a self dipping mirror...

Use in summer, helps keep car a little cooler, also if I have rear passengers for a little extra privacy for them...

Where's mine on my senny then?

Ah, found it, but it is not electric so I would have to stop to put it up which would not work as the person I wanted to snub would overtake me by then

I always slow right down if someone gets up my a*se. All the way down to a crawl if necessary.
