Polyurethane is much harder so is likely to make the ride a lot firmer.

I suspect it wont be suitable for the vertical rear bush as this requires quite a degree of flex

Gotcha!  :y :y :y
Well in that case  ::) ::) I am intereted too  :y

Any ideas of the part number please, the part numbers I have is

614 035 0016 &
614 035 0010

Just found this is this the one .5mm smaller o/d
does that matter
he putting a order in so got to make ny mind up soonish

http://www.meyle.com/html/uploads/techtips/ControlArmBushing_BMW_12.04_us.pdf

300 311 2103

Thats the one, fitted an M5 version of that bush in the past so know they fit........

Ow yes, the lemforder wishbones are the same price as teh Merle ones from autovaux

Can we clarify - which are the part numbers (for both bushes) for the heavy duty BMW equivalents?

I am interested if we can sort out which the right ones are.

Cheers,
Ian

Depends on the grade used - some can flex a fair way if the softer grades

Depends on the grade used - some can flex a fair way if the softer grades are used...

iggy21uk - its the grade of Poly which determines the harshness.  The softer versions are virtually indistinguishable from rubber.  Depends on the new vs old grade...Shore is what they use for grading it from memory?

Shore hardness is a measurement of rubbers resilience. Used to be measured with a dial gauge which pressed a pin into a sample of rubber and registered accordingly. IIRC glass is 100 shore (highest possible as it doesn't give).

So you're going for
614 035 0010
300 311 2103/HD   ?

Sounds like several of us would be interested - would they be up for a volume deal, free postage or something?

I would go for 4 of each.

Cheers

Iggy, check your BMW bushes, make sure that the centre hole is concentric with the outer diameter.
I went down the same path as you a while back, comparing Lemforder, Meyle and GM partnumbers and plumped for a 750iL bush which fitted but had a slight offset. Handling was much sharper but tyres wore on inner edge even though camber was correct. I dont know if the offset is on all BMW bushes or just the one I chose.
When fitting the new bush ignore any alignment or 'thrust' markings...on the BM the bush is behind the axle so takes brake forces as a 'push' whereas the Omega has the bush ahead of the axle so brake forces are 'pulling'. Just make sure they fit in the same orientation as the originals.

Hi Iggy,

Don't want to put you to extra effort, but is it possible to check what Matchless says?   If that is correct, or their is risk, I will probably go for the regular ones.

Is that his order that is going in at 1400, or yours to him?

Sounds like you (set of 4?), me (2 sets of 4), Kevin (1 set) and maybe Scruntie would be interested.

Cheers
