A nice task on the car today
« on: 30 March 2009, 19:31:56 »

After last nights horrific job, today was an absolute pleasure.  ::)

Changed the engine oil and filter and swapped out the LSD diff oil for some nice Millers 80w90lsd.

Fired her up and was greeted with a beautifully quiet and smooth v6, it was mechanical centrefold stuff!  ;D

Didn't realise that she was getting so noisy, I change the oil every year at this time and only do about 2k.  Just shows you, time plays as much a part in oil deteriorating as mileage.  Sorted that noisy (for first 5 secs) tappet.  :y

Heh, yeah she's not the daily runner.  She just gets dusted off this time of year and prep'd for the Marham Trackday.  :D

By the time we've made the trip to swampland and back up here and some pottering around, that takes us to about 2k.  Then back to storage for her  8-)

I've only done the one trackday a year the last 3 yrs as I've not wanted to overstress her, given that she's had a fair few items replaced or serviced this time though, I may take her down for the September one as well... :D

I don't really race per say, but I do like to indulge in a little drifting and nothing puts a smile on my face as much as a little rain when on track...then I can play more than 5 laps on a set of tyres :o  the tarmac is a little 'abrasive' on the airfield... ;)
