Went to the flicks last night to watch The Haunting in Connecticut. Hadnt been to the flicks in ages so was quite looking forward to it. Quite a good movie,but i got a bigger fright before i even sat down.
2 tickets @ £6.15 each
2 hotdogs @ £ 3.95 each
1 bottle budweiser, £ 3.15
1 very small bottle white wine, £ 3.90
£27.25 to go watch a bloody movie!!!!!  And that was us going for a cheap night out instead of going to the pub!!

Ouch. Me and the wife, or should that be the wife and I, go out on a Friday evening to a litlle pub, have two small meal's and I usually have 2 pints of cider and a double southern comfort, she does not drink alcohol. It don't cost that much, that's for sure. I fact I would even say in the current climate it has got cheaper, and there are less people in the pub.
No wonder I have not been to the movies in 20 years +.

ouch i know that cost only two well, When Me Bev and the kids go it is normally £60 plus after Entry,hotdogs,drinks,sweets etc... cheaper to get a dvd but we still go back dont we..... 8-)

Nope! Last time I was in a cinema was the first showing of Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome so thats coming up on 25 years I get all my movies from the pub now

we have found a cheaper option to get that cinema affect, we just turn the lights off, put in a dvd, then play a recording of people coughing & farting all over the place & rattling popcorn while film is showing, then to top it off we put double sided sticky tape to our shoes to give that "pepsi soaked carpet" affect

Oh, just do what your MP probably does; charge it to your expense account!!

When me and the wife went too see The Dark Knight...the total bill for two of us with food and drink and upgraded seats (like arm chairs) came too about £4.

Still thats the Philippines for ya...
