MOT exhaust emissions test results
« on: 31 March 2009, 20:51:17 »

I have here my MOT exhaust emissions test results - it's all a mystery to me - can anyone let me know if these results are what you would expect from a well serviced omega (i.e. new oil, fuel, air filters + new sparkies within the last 2 months) - I presume they are ok as it passed the emission test.

fast idle test                  min limit         max limit         actual value      pass/fail
------------------            ------------      ------------      ---------------     -------------
rpm                                 2500              3000
co                                    --                  0.200                 0.029            pass
hc                                   --                   200                       19             pass
lambda                           0.970              1.030                 1.003            pass

natural idle test
----------------------
rpm                                450                 1500                 ----                 not checked
co                                 ------                  0.300              0.047              pass

Will the fact that my valve stem seals are leaking and i get a puff of smoke on start up affect its chance of passing emissions ??

Bit worried cos its got its MOT next week !!

By comparison my 2.2 came in at:

fast idle test                  min limit         max limit         actual value      pass/fail
------------------            ------------      ------------      ---------------     -------------
rpm                                 2500              3000                2668     pass
co                                    --                  0.200                 0.00            pass
hc                                   --                   200                       5             pass
lambda                           0.970              1.030                 1.00            pass

natural idle test
----------------------
rpm                                450                 1500                 750
co                                 ------                  0.300              0.00
