Wish they'd re-opened it a lot sooner. I've been trying to sell a house near Longbridge for a year now. It's in an area that a lot of Rover workers lived and now I've had to take a massive drop in price to shift it (and I do mean massive!)
I blame the unions and cynical money grubbing management for Rovers downfall. The workers in Brum in this sort of industry were always a little militant, which just led to union rabble rousers stirring up the trouble and in the end, having a workforce that didn't seem to connect the money they earnt with doing any actual work. I know that not all Brummies or Rover workers were like this, but having worked in a large factory in Brum that shut down recently and seeing the unions blame the management and govt etc. with no mention of what we all knew . . . the staff were crap and didn't understand the basics of quality or efficiency.
