Weekend chores
« on: 05 April 2009, 21:24:17 »

Yesterday, MV6 has had a oil change and around 30 coolant flushes, new coolant bottle to cure the coolant warning. Also gave the lawnmower a once over, ready for the summer, clean and regapped plug, cleaned air filter, and a dose of Vx semi synth. Then thought I'd better use it - so that means that will be my weekly chore until autumn :(

Also, took the MV6 for a little 'test', fuel light was on, so chucked in £10 worth of BP.  Didn't last long ::)

Today, did the aux belt, right bastard for some reason.

Then as it was a nice day, decided to strip that old tractor engine thats been sat in my garage.  Stripped right down now, right done to the block.  Never knew those crankshafts where so flipping heavy :o

Knackered now, the amount of bending over as the engine was on the floor, I guess I'll regret it tomorrow  :'(

This one hashad annual servicing by a professonal.

I have now fully stripped it, cleaned it, ground the blades in, setup the drive and brade levers the lot!

I no longer have a grinder, so not sharpened blade yet.  I'll whip it off next time I see my little brother and let him sharpen it - if he hasn't killed himself with those duff brakes of his ;D

Blade...just the one!  ;D

This is a cylidner mowers so its coarse carborundum paste on the blade tips and rotate it backwards against the knife 100 times.

They cut paper quite nicely now!

Fancy a cylinder one myself, but this one still works fine, so will keep it until it fails.  Its Honda, so direct drive, so good chance I'll bend the crank one day ;D
