Omega Lotus 3.X v6 turbo +++
« on: 11 April 2009, 08:22:41 »

I guess you all know I am driving around in a MV6. A thought striked me, the "old" Omega Lotus has 370 HP if Im not mistaken?
And the engineblock is the same or identical to the one in the MV6?

Or have I the history wrong?

Not so much creative mindwork to google out my question?  :D

as above it was a straight 6, a conversion can be done. A member here put the full running gear from a LC into a GLS 2.0 Omega.

It surprised a few M3 owners  ;D

The Lotus Carlton (in UK) was a modified version of the Carlton GSi engine, thus a straight 6 with a couple of turbos bolted on for fun.

It will fit an Omega, but its not an easy conversion due to its size and weight.

In this country, badged Lotus Carlton. Opel varients were badged Lotus Omega (as Carlton was Omega-A)

I didn't know the Omega Lotus was a straight 6. The first car slips my mind is the BMW!

But a turbo on the V6 should be possible to sneak in?
Is there any point to convert to the open airfilter?

You will do well to squeeze a turbo onto a V engine in an Omega.

Super charger would slot in though

Courtnay sport did / do a supercharger for the v6 but it was or is a little bit on the pricey side. They also did a turbo for the omega but only for the police in ireland i was told. If you have manual omega they do some nice mods like Ultra Light Billet Steel Flywheel and other stuff but it all depends on how rich you are and how far you want to take these things. :y :y
