Ok No Laughing!
« on: 14 April 2009, 19:42:10 »

Before you all start laughing, this is temporary!!!!

I have had to borrow my brothers 1.4 1996 Fiat Brava  :'( while my mig is off the road having the head gasket done, however it drives like a can of marbles.

I was hoping one of you lot may know something about Fiats. It has a warning light up on the dash that looks like a injector and spray coming from it. The car starts but sounds like its running on 3 cylinders, you get going but have to revs its nuts off to get you going. Once mobile and in third gear its not too bad but in lower gears if you hit a hill it almost stalls unless you gear down and run in high revs.

Any ideads  :'( :-/

Lol, needs the codes reading......interestingly, the common failures on Fiat petrol engines are head gaskets, there nearly as prone to failure as the K series ones

You could always ask on the fiat forum for a sensible response.

Fix It Again Tomorrow as mentioned, or

Fix It Again Tony.   More personal :P

Bit ironic.   Several years ago (in my Carlton) went to Northern Italy with friends in their Fiat (friends are Italian).

Whilst in Stressa he's steering went toots up.  Took it to FIAT Franchise.

IN ITALY, ITALIAN CAR. BUT RIGHT HAND DRIVE!!!!!!!!!   Guess where the replacement part was.  Yep in the UK. Even more ironic, only one in the UK was in Cambridgeshire.  They live in Cambs.   Unit had to be sent :(
