how is life on the wrong side of the pennines stmo

Quiet. Except for Hillsborough being on the telly every five minutes. Wish they would let it rest. Hope we dont have a 25th, 30th etc. It's all been said and I find it upsetting.

i kind of agree with ya on that. but people being peolpe like to remember certain episodes in history and always will. truly was a sad event with a tragic loss of life.

I took a break from the site for about a year due to work commitments and pesonal problems but i for one will stick my neck out and say it is great to be back on here and think it is a NICE place to be, my opionion of course but i'm positive others will think otherwise, all i can say is if those peeps are not happy on here there are options available. However i also think life is far to short to fall out with one another, so just bloody enjoy it we may not be lucky enough to enjoy it tomorrow.  :-/

Absolutely right, we all have that option. :y :y

Wouldn't it be nice though to have a site that is a true community, away from the outside "real" world were we all can share our love for the Omega, cars generally, and anything else we wish to discuss in an adult way without rudeness, bickering and insult just for once?? ::) ::)

I am on this site for one reason only, to keep my Omega on the road, although I can do it without the OOF like I have maintained all my previous cars without aid from the internet.

However, I do much enjoy usually the feeling of 'belonging' and the social contact with other members which produces at times great humour.  We all need a good laugh and relaxation, what we do not want (and yes I know us women are different from the majority male membership!) is people insulting each other over having different views, including the extreme of some telling others to "f... off"!! :o :o  That just produces stress and aggravation which most of us have to deal with in the "real" world. :-X :-X

You are right life is too short to put up with that. 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-)

And there was me thinking that it was because you liked my articulate...... well informed ........humorous .......but never PC postings Lizzie. ;D ;D :y :y

Seriously though Lizzie......................don't stress yourself too much....OOF is .....after all just a forum.................and best not to take too seriously . :y :y :y :y :y

Just my opinion, so don't shoot me down... but it seems that whenever there is a "disagreement" within a thread - it spawns another thread questioning the morals of OOF!?

I briefly read the thread and do agree that LZ was subject to some harsh comments but I do not see how drawing more attention helps matters - would a firm PM not suffice?

If someone was "offensive" towards me in the street I would walk away and leave them to it - this doesn't affect my freedom of speech in any way. Does the same not apply to a forum?

This has not been the only case recently, and what I am attempting to do, without mentioning names you should please note, is just bring 'global' attention to what I see as a problem so that all of us, including me, can just take stock of the situation and call PEACE and have a truly friendly peaceful OOF that everyone can enjoy!! 8-) 8-) 8-)

A Utopia?? Maybe!  But I must try before giving up!! 8-) 8-) 8-)

Once again somebody expresses an opinion on the OOF, in this case me on the subject of "Facebook", and you end up being insulted, as we have seen recently in other threads!!

Is no one aloud to express opinions nowadays??  Is this the type of society we have now??  ::) ::) ::)

I believe in free speech, with the freedom to express opinions, but without resorting to insult.

It just feels at the moment that placing anything on the OOF, including trying to give members assistance, is like walking on eggshells ready for the next obscenity or insult!!  :( :( :(

This, as I have stated before, is spoiling the enjoyment of this site and gives me reason to think is it worth it??!!  ::) ::) ::)

I echo Ljay's words used in conection with the "Met. Caught out" thread when she's says so rightly:

"Seems to me this is not a nice place to be no more!"

Hope you do not mind me quoting your words Ljay, but it is sadly very true at the moment! :( :( :( :(

I dont mind at all Lizzie,(might have improved my grammar if i had known i would be quoted, lol!)

I can appreciate other people saying that if we arent happy on this forum then there are other options but, having been around for a while it does seem to have changed.
It seemed to go down hill when people started mentioning cliques, everyone denied it and the bitching started.
I can bitch with the best so havent really got a leg to stand on!
I have walked away and been persuaded back twice now and this time especially have been reminded why i left.
It used to be a relaxed friendly place, now it just seems to be edgy with people waiting for the next scrap, if not looking to start the next scrap.
I have been informed that as oofs biggest trouble maker i have no leg to stand on whilst complaining about others! Think that attitude says it all!

Sad, very sad! :'(

Thanks Ljay! :y :y  No, I wouldn't change a letter of what you said as it goes straight to the point in an excellent way. 8-) 8-) 8-)
