sensitive miggy..
« on: 15 April 2009, 20:35:12 »

In the last days, miggy showed a bad habit on start up..

EML light stays more than usual and engine idles erratically with unusual noises :o ..

Thanks to my wifes ears, she said that exhaust leaks :-?  .. One car expert in my home and I dont know ?

Anyway, after it was found to be a very small hole in exhaust (hard to see as its close to chasis - above part -) and when its repaired everything turned to normal.. :)

Temperamental aren't they. When I think of some of the old cars that I used to drive, held together with wire coat hangers and sticky tape. Never used to stop them running.

Reminds me of my old mark 4 Cortina, passed the MOT twice with sills made of newspaper and P38 ;D ;D

My first car was held together by newspaper, paint, but in the main.....rust, and plenty of it, or big empty spaces where body members should be! ::) ::) ::) ::)

That sounds very sensitive for a minor leak.   Have you paperclipped it too?

All I know is Cem that the balance of exhaust pressure on the engine is very important, especially on our 'modern' technology cars.  If that balance is disturbed, like with any exhaust pipe / box weakness it will upset the running of the engine. ;) ;)   The engine management system will be disturbed by it, trying hard to compensate for the fault. :'( :'(

electronical management bound to sensors complicates the problem..

I wish I had a button to set it on default bios (map) settings ;D

Actually the compansation process makes it harder to track down the fault in most occasions.. :-/
