Ok - this must be the same engine as my Signum - what you will have to keep an eye on particularly during warranty is the clutch rattle. This will be the Dual Mass Flywheel system on this engine (I think it is a fiat engine by the way so very robust and is prepared for hard work) and it is a fault especially on the original factory fit. First sign of any problem get it to dealer and get issue logged and do not be fobbed off. A lot of people get screwed on this by VX as they claim driver abuse which it is not. If it should happen to you (hope not) then ask for copies of the photos that VX dealer will take to submit to Luton. Repair is about £1400 clutch and dmf and I know people who have paid even with car in warranty as they were convincvd by VX it was driver abuse.

Apparently when changed like mine was under warranty you do not get further problems. Another VX common fault they will not hold their hand up to. The fault is due to the torque on the 150bhp engine.

Having warned on this the drive will be great. I was aware of the dmf problem BEFORE i bought the Signum and actually flagged up with VX before purchase. They changed mine under warranty without too much of a fight at 16000 miles.

Think they modified dmf, so his won't be affected

Lol, no issue there. Very aware of the few complications (EGR valve sticking....note new there with any manufacturer!, particulate filter clogging on short journeys - software update all but cures that plus T2 can do a re-gen which is interesting to watch!).

Vx introduced a new DMF about 6 months ago....I had it fitted to mine on Wednesday.

The box is not such a problem on the ligher cars....I have actualy only seen them have an issue on the tuned up ones or those where the driver has forgot how to use a clutch!

I note there are some with these lumps running at 200+bhp!

Saying that, I nearly bought a Rover 45 diesel the other day, and our old Rover 420 diesel always managed 50+ mpg, until it had a nasty bump (then never managed more than 45mpg).  I miss that car  :'(
Do it Jaime, mines chipped, de catted and goes quite well :y
