Vamps territory
« on: 18 April 2009, 17:20:35 »

I'm off up North to Vamps territory tomorrow to have a look around the Beamish open air museum. The 5 has just been washed and waxed and the weather is supposed to be like today so I think I will get the roof off and take the A roads and the go across the A66 :)

Make sure you have your vest on, and a warm jumper and large coat. Bloomin cold up here at the mo, sea fret is well inland and has been most of the week. Weather forecast for tomorrow does suggest some sunshine, but they also said that about today ::)

Beamish is a fabulous place though that gets bigger and better each year :y been a few times but not for a while now. You will need lots of time and you may still not se everything, the place is huge. Enjoy :y :y

Beamish was excellent and well worth the money. We decided to stay at the Travelodge in Durham on Sunday night and took a slow drive back via Richmond and the Yorkshire Dales stopping off at a few little villages today, unfortunately it was a very sunny day and I have had the roof off for the whole journey (10 hours). I now look like a red indian (native american) :-[

I never thought to be honest, we went to the bar next to the Travelodge and had a beer or two and then hit the sack ready for another early start.

A pic of a copy of Stephenson's Rocket at Beamish

A couple of pics from Richmond Castle

And a pic of the 5 with village off Emmerdale of the TV in the background
