Can Anyone recommend a good campsite in the Yorkshire Dales? Was thinking of maybe popping up there on the bank holiday weekend just for a couple of days.

Planning to camp, someware with some nice countryside would be nice  :)

What kind of site you looking for? All singing, all dancing? Or the basics?
We stopped here .... http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/reviews.asp?revid=5012 for a week end last summer. Very basic, but it was only £6 a night  ;) ;) Not too far to walk back from the pubs in Appletreewick.  :y

Basic is fine, we just need a field!

Good country side walking around there?

Cheers, £6 sounds right up my budget!  ;D

We stayed here when we did the 3 yorkshire peaks a few weeks back.  Pricing structure quite simple  - £2 for everything (£2 per tent, per person, per car).  Good clean site with toilets & obligatory cold shower, close to 2 pubs and some good walking/climbing.

Thanks, did you have any problems with the noise as the reviews suggest?

No noise issues apart froma few sheep in the next field.  Train line is quite close but doesn't run at unsociable hours & is quite infrequent.  Farmer is a right character!  Good views of pen-y-ghent & ingleborough, close to a cafe for breakfast & small shop opposite.

If it is for the bank holiday and you want a decent site I would start looking now, seems many sites an the region are fully booked throughout the bank holidays and summer. According to the talk on our caravan site last weekend. :y
