Good customer service for once!
« on: 04 May 2009, 17:46:35 »

Got back from York to no power, reset trip all ok, well okish

Virtually no bubbles in fish tank,
Shower needed to be on max for any warmth,
microwave & kettle very slow.   Hmmmmm

Checked the voltage - 190V

Rang em up at 11am this morning, by 11:30 an Engineer had come, dismantled the meter and confirmed low voltage.

He went off to the substation to play, and said he or 'the heavy mob' would be back later.

Got a phonecall at 12:00, another engineer would be here 'after 3'

4ish, 2 vans turn up, check the meter again......still low voltage, must be in the cable outside.

We now have no pavement and a bloody big hole where they are trying to fix.

still low voltage in the hole so swapping us to another cable.

so 6 hours into a fault call on a bank holiday and looks to be close to a fix.

VERY impressed so far, big thumbs up to Scottish Power (despite paying the bills to Eon)

Photos to follow...

Well they have swapped us to a different phase.

Now have around 235 volts coming in....Best we ever had before was 220, Every light is brighter then they have ever been.

He said pity you didnt call yesterday, double time on a Sunday, apparently things have changed, he doesnt think he is on double time today  :'(

You are lucky you catch this early otherwise there would be an unnecesary electronics repair bill which happened to my neighbours and to me :-/

20:30 and a wagon has just filled the hole to just overflowing with hardcore.

Guess that is it now till a tarmac crew turn up to remove some, and finish properly.

They are under a legal obligation to ensure a minimum quality of supply and the time constraints for rectification are quite tight Jim, so they didn't do anything for you that they wouldn't have done for anyone else.
