Right then.......................now lets see what Dusty actually said.............She politely asked for some help to fix her car..............got a limited response.............and so.............. said she was disappointed.

Disappointment is a human emotion.....what of it.

Then Dusty decided for a number of reasons that the forum was not for her..........Her prerogative.............She left on what she thought was good terms...............Telling everyone to have a great summer............... and a great life............and then after that she is treated tothe usual..............  OOF sheep follow sheep  tirade. >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

So................how do I know so much about Dusty.............Well simple..............I have been Mr Dusty for the last 18 years.............as far as we are aware................ only the admin and ....(Jimbob we think) and Dusty's friend Lizzie.................... were aware of this.................. as we liked to post independently.............of each other especially.................... as my very un PC views do not coincide with Dusty's somewhat softer approach.

Quite frankly..................... I don't like the way that some of you sh**heads are speaking about my wife. :( :( :( :(

Dusty has been very ill for several years now................and has had many regular hospital tests..........prods............. and probes........and major operations...............Some of the medicines she requires fall outside of the national health.................. and thus we have to pay for it ourselves............Dusty being the strong character that she is did not want to bring her ailments to the forum.........That is her way...........

Which is why Dusty thought................ that when her miggy needed expensive MOT work......................it was adding expense .............on top of expense......which we could ill afford.............so she thought maybe OOF could help...............I know Dusty is extremely distressed with how she has been treated by some of you lot. :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :(

Read her last post................ and ask yourself why you have treated someone this way.................... Tell me if you can find anything unpleasant in it............. to act the way that............ you have.

We tried to cancel Dusty's membership last night by deleting her profile. But she still appears to be a member. So I politely ask that TB show (us both) as ex members. As I no longer want to be part of this forum either. Quite frankly we have more important............... life threatening................. things to deal with.....in the coming weeks and months. :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :(

To the forum members who resisted following the herd well done :) :) :) :). To the usual OOF sheep who are always there when someone leaves......shame on you. >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

I would have (and still would if needed) offered to do the work on Mrs Dusty's car, my only problem being the distance, I'd prefer to do it at home as I a) have all my stuff here and b) don't have the time to travel far because of my owrk commitments. By the time I'd gotten round to posting a response the tide had turned on the thread so decided against adding to it. I'm so sorry you both feel the way you do but if I was in your shoes I'd probably feel the same way. May I wish you both good luck and better health for the future :) and a  :-* for Dusty.

Very fair and justified comments :y Hope that Dusty gets her car sorted without too much trouble. I also hope that whatever you both have to face in the near future isn't as arduous as you might presently suspect :)Good luck :y :y

All fair comments. I know I commented after Dusty declared she was leaving but I hope I didn't offend her in any way shape or form... That was not my intention and, having read through my posts again, I hope neither of you have taken offence.

I do agree with some of the comments however... Unfortunately with the distinct lack of a definite location of the vehicle there were a lot of people who didn't even look much further than a quick read. I would have been willing to travel to you if I had the time! Unfortunately it wasn't to be... I already have commitments for my 4 days off this weekend and it would have been unfair to promise you I'd come over when I knew I couldn't.

I hope you both re-think your decision to leave OOF as it would be a real shame for you to leave over what is, yet again, a case of the written word coming across differently to the spoken (I think)

Best of luck with whatever it is that is ailing Dusty and I hope you both have a good summer and get some good news.

Oh... And good luck with the book! :y :y :y :y

I read the original thread with interest but didn't participate .
My interpretation of the thread re your wifes car is that she is bemoaning the fact that no one would come and fix it for her .
I read many replies from upstanding members who apologised politly for being unable to travel to your home  but offered parts , advice and a lot of encouragement to assist her in getting it done , but that seemed of no use to her as  she expected someone to actually do the work for her.
An interesting approach to Forum membership.

I wish you good luck and goodbye.

Optimist60 - may I contact you via email please, using the email account you signed up with?

I do agree that some of the comments on Dusty's thread were uncalled for  :'(, though one or 2 requests for extra info went unanswered as well.

I feel the need to lock both threads now, run their course, and cause friction here (not pointing any blame at anyone, as I haven't fully read either).

Hope you both stay, but if not, wish you both all the best :y
