Seems such a shame, I Know, I will take the radio, cd player and spare at least, maybe I'll get a decent offer for them on Ebay, any thing else that would sell? door mirrors, perhaps.

Yes, deal done but dealer only wants a complete car so damaged trim etc doesn't matter, will take all I can off. requirement is that car can drive into dealers yard and then on to transporter for taking to scrapyard, somewhere in the midlands (The dealer thinks), so why not do a fellow omega owner the favour, for a small consideration, of updating or replacing damaged trims, or even doors/boot lid etc.
Iam out all day today so will respond this evening if anyone is interested.

TBH, I'd swap it for a ropey old banger and trade that in instead. If it's getting scrapped who cares what you actually turn up in?

Just realised this is the main thread of two of the same title!!

So again...........

This is what is going to happen when this scrappage scheme is applied!  A good car, fully roadworthy, that has taken a lot of resource and energy to build, is now just going to be chucked away for what?  :-? :-?

Barmy, bloody, political nonsense to appease the international dictate that is not based on 'saving the planet' at all, but really just to keep the car industry afloat is the real answer!

This gives politics a worse name that it already has!! >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

Cannot understand your reasoning,I was offered 800 for the car as part exchange, .......

...... The dealer that offered you £800 for it doesn't really want it, he would have to get rid it it himself. Sell your car privately mnd then ygo back to buy a new/another car wothout a part ex. you're then in a far better bargaining position. The goverment's scrappage scheme, as far as I can see, is a con.

really love it but it only does 30 to the gallon.

'only' 30  :-? ...... I think most Omega owners would be more than happy with that. Mine's normally around the low 20's

19mpg for me  although  it depends how you drive it
i put one of those induction kits on the car and it makes raaaaargh noises so i tend to boot it a lot more.
30mpg  would be great
