I thought their response to the bloke kicking a little dog to death was scandlous. They're not prosecuting because the dog didn't suffer cos he kicked it that hard it died instantly without suffering!   >:(  >:(  >:(  >:(  >:(

Mrs Gixer works from home. They keep calling her in office hours asking for a donation. She does donate but when she feels like it, NOT when they ask her to. She asked for the calls to stop on call No. 2. We are on call no.7 now. Bloody harassment if you ask me.

Contact Telephone Preference Service - register your number with them. The calls will stop soon after.

It's common practice. We give to a few charities and often get letters/calls asking for more. Letters in the bin and calls ignored now (good old caller ID).

That is a shame, I support the RNLI when I can, as I used to use the water an awful lot. (water skiing, diving)
I have also contributed to RSPCA in the past. But to disturb someone with a phone call asking for more money is terrible.  >:(

TPS doesn't work that well to be honest, and you soon get tired of constantly reporting companies to TPS, only for them to do bugger all :(.

I know that to work it depends on "callers" updating their database with "barred" numbers but I have found that after about 3 months most calls tend to stop. It also helps when they call to say "why are you calling this number? It is registered with the TPS". That normally gets an apology and no further contact.

I have only ever reported one company - Vodafone - normally the threat is sufficient to get your details removed. :y

I found with one of my lines, it initially went down with TPS, but then went back up.

The other landline, never really got calls on it, but registered it anyway, and within about 8 weeks started to get 100s of calls  >:(

Most companies claim not to know what TPS is - remember a lot of these calls come from those retards who answer those 'earn £600 per week, work at home' leaflets that always come through the post  >:(

Its a volunatry system that I don't think works - quite the opposite, I reckon they actually use the number database that TPS pass them   >:(

had very good results with tps here, after 3-4 months virtually no marketing calls.

recently starting getting some foreign call centres ringing though :(  and can't even understand what they are trying to sell!

Unfortunately most, if not all, large charities of this kind outsource their fundraising to call centres. The people in the call centres don't work for the charities they simply buy the donations database from the charity and then target existing "customers" to increase their payments. The call centre then take a large chunk of commission from the increased payments before paying the cash back to the charity. In this respect I doubt if RSPCA are any different from say Cancer Research for example.
