your 1st car?
« on: 20 May 2009, 20:47:10 »

Mine was a vauxhall chevette. Paid £150 for it,that was in 1989 when i was a pup of 19. Blue, the saloon version, cant remember the engine size. Sure it said something about  "couldnt pull the skin off a rice pudding"  on back. ;D ;D
One of the worst cars i ever owned but just like the 1st time you fall in love you never forget. ;D

Mine was a Viva HA van  (Went like the clappers as well)

1st proper car was a Chrysler Alpine 1.4 (Felt like it was in reverse all the time or the brakes were stuck)

1958 Ford Popular E93A "sit up and beg" 1172cc side valve.  Ended up rallying it - sat on 15" Zody rims, uprated 2nd gear (70mph +) souped engine (comp ratio up from 6:1 to 10:1, rally cam, 2 x 1¼" SUs etc), LMB racing suspension and more.

Next car Riley 1.5 - fitted it with tuned MGB engine + OD box - sh1t off a shovel.

1977 MK1 Granada 3 litre Ghia with a 4 speed manual box.

Cost £200 for 3rd party insurance at 17, and I got £20 back when I passed my test 3 weeks later.
