I am friggin livid with this heap of shit.  The next problem is that the hypervisor doesn't support the scsi card.

Now if this was a tinpot unbranded card, I'd accept that. But its the de-facto, industry standard Adaptec 29160 card, using the aic7xxx driver :o

Now the vendor of the hypervisor will only support devices on the HCL. That I can live with. Except there are no scsi cards of any make or model on the rather HCL

You'd think an Adaptec card would be on the HCL!  ::)

You would. But even if it wasn't, you'd expect at least 1 SCSI card to be on the rather HCL  >:(

Ahh SCSI Yes my Compaq Proliant 4500 was a toy of my'n back in the day great bit of kit 4x Baracuda 10GB drives with SCSI Raid5

if my memory serves me right it was an intergrated compaq scsi controller

You cant have that SCSI is still very reliable i'd expect SCSI support still in modern OS builds!

well, if any of you IT types have a spare Adaptec 29320 or other card that uses aic79xx driver, that will be another hurdle crossed

Don't quite understand the computer jargon.

Why don't you get yourself down the pub one evening / or out for a day or two, forget OOF for a while as it sounds as if you're overclocking you brain !.
Think you need a long break chap.

Hope all works out for you in the end.

We're all behind you with support.
