voted - and frankly appalled at the huge vote for BNP - maybe nickbat's right - they feed on the oxygen of publicity - BNP barely register north of the border normally - but latest polls have 2.5% voting for them!

hopefully, with all theis publicity they'll be shown up for what they are....or do some not care what they are?

I agree... The BNP do have some good policies but I'm afraid there are too many which I don't agree with to gain my vote.

There are other options there with the same good policies but the rest make more sense too! :y :y

Indeed. It sums up the situation perfectly. For ages there has been public concern regarding a few relatively straightforward issues; namely that our immigration policies are weak and not being enforced; Europe are getting too much control, etc.

The mainstream politicians have largely ignored these issues, made excuses why they cannot be addressed and patronised us with the usual "nanny state knows best" cr@p.

Public opinion has now grown strong enough that such issues can be exploited by the likes of the BNP. I hope the mainstream parties take heed of the monster they have created before it devours them.

British history Cem has actually proved how the governments of the day have always stayed one step ahead of possible revolutions.  These governments have always just stayed one step ahead by giving the British public just, and only just, what was required to keep the militants at bay.  Certainly from 1789, the time of the French Revolution, through to the social unrest of the 1800s, including a very real threat from the Chartists from about 1838 to 1848, the latter being a time of great European revolution, the government have produced 'reform' acts of varying degrees to keep the rebels at bay. This continued throughout the rest of the nineteenth century and well up to 1939.

The British government, along with opposition parties, will no doubt do this again by recognising why the BNP gained their two seats, almost by default, and apply new policies coupled with new acts of Parliament.

If they do this the 'revolution' will never happen as in the past.  If they fail to respond correctly then the situation will become worse. ::) ::)
