This happened to me aboout 10 years ago in my first new rover
the owner of the other car admited liability untill she got home  then said it was all my fault.

It was a bit of a stalemet untill i got out the old video camera and filmed the correct way to go around the roundabout  and describing my placement on the road and the  other drivers

this all tied up withthe damage on the cars

from what i can see  the other car should have gone in the lane up the side of the purple truck

Think its a bus mate. ;D

Just let the other driver go...wave and feel content knowing youve kept calm. :y
sod that go in with horns blasting
get a great big lorry horn and scare the livind daylights out of him ;D

(do not try this at home)

I used to have an airhorn fitted to my push bike.  It came about when studying in Sheffield and I had to cycle in from the top of some humoungous hills, 30mph was easily possible just freewheeling.  Despite upgrading the brakes and wearing reflective hi-vis clothing I had a few close calls with vehicles pulling out on me.  I saw the airhorn and fitting the canister on the handlebars between the tri-bar with aquarium piping leading back to the horn fitted underneath the saddle.  The cops said it was legal and it worked a treat as cars would think a lorry was coming.  It was also handy for cycling around the Arc de Triomphe in Paris!  ;D ;D ;D

i agree, the insurance co will likely go 50/50. The police will attend only if the road is blocked or if there is injury. my force will not take reports if its damage only and im sure we are not alone.
Best advice is avoid the moron, if you do get hit then try to take some pictures quickly with the cars in situ, then of the roundabout and markings.send these with the claim but... we all know what insurance comapnies are like :-X

I had a car change lanes into me once on a bike, my front wheel removed his door trim.

On same bike not that long after I had a Transit pick up pull out in front of me - I lost the front end emergency braking, and slid into the PU, dented his door quite badly, but hitting the van recovered the slide and I carried on after abusing him.

Even had a traffic car pull out in front of my 600 - again emergency stop on greasy road - had a slide.

Thats it I am NOT getting another bike.

I suffer morons who cannot use roundabouts on a daily basis and have now given up arguing about it. Just either put my foot down and leave them standing or slow and let them go! Life's too short!

Of course... There's still the odd occasion where I see red and stand my ground with a firm but extended press on the horn! Normally works, especially if you time it when their drivers door is in line with the front left corner of your car (where the horns are) ::) ::) ;D ;D

It the same in the situation where 2 lanes go into one and a clear sign saying merge in turn now and some idiot decides to drive up the inside of you insisting that he won't let you in. Its ok now i have the power of my miggy but i have had an incident where i stood my ground and he hit my rear quarter panel with his nose on my side of the line and his insurance payed out. The roads are just full of impatient idiots! Use your horn and stand your ground. If he hits you it's his fault, of course you want to avoid this at all costs, but if it can't be avoided let him hit you, if you hit somebody in the right lane swerving to avoid him it becomes your fault regardless of what he did to make you react that way.

Thank you all for your replies:) From what I can see now is that sadly there are no firm rules about who was in the wrong under the given circumstances :-/

Anyways, I will be selling my mig in a couple of months for spares, so I don't mind Sunday drivers hitting me from aaaal directions. For as long as they pay up that is ;D

Oh, that was almost a year ago, when I was still on the midnight-8am shift. Now I work in the same place, only I start at 1.30Pm and finish at 10pm.
Do you work there as well? And is your omega a green sedan? :)
