Another lovely pleasant person...
« on: 24 June 2009, 23:35:14 »

While crossing some green lights today, a cyclist, at night, wearing black, cuts in front of me, causing me to brake hard.

"Hey mate, you just cut right in front of me, you could have got really hurt".

"**** you - I'll dig up your dead mother from her grave - you're gonna end up in a ******* body bag you £$%$%"

Don't you just love society?  ;D

Indeed, but, without any equipment or support, and not knowing what this lovely individual may be carrying that could harm me - you have to be very careful, especially when alone. Remaining safe is priority 1 :y

Always get annoyed when I see those adverts, aimed at car drivers, urging them to "Think Bike"  (albeit usually of the motorised variety) ....... Maybe a campaign, aimed at cyclists, should urge them to "Think Car"

living as I do near Cambridge , I have had a few near misses with cyclists. Even more so in the past 2 - 3 years and the introduction of Ipods , the cyclists just ride anywhere at any time , they ar totally oblivios to any cars , listening to their music , madness

Not all cyclists are morons and while cycling I have never hurt a car/van driver but they have hurt me once accidentally (pulling out) and once deliberately ramming into the side of me.  Both happened while doing 25-30 mph downhill  ::) on neither occasion would the coppers do anything even though when I was deliberately rammed I flew over the top of a parked car, managed to comando roll (boy them were the days) and land at 2 coppers' feet.  " We didn't see anything I was told.  rather useless  >:(

But I do see complete idiots on the road in cars, vans, lorries and on bycycles.  It wont be long until I grab one and let him know how much luckier he is than my kid bro was.  In my own method of communication of course  ::) ::) ::)

I used to do a lot of cycling, and I had one moron car driver try and push me up the kerb, I quickly uncilpped my shoes from the pedals and threw my bike at his car, sadly it just missed his car and broke my cleat >:( and he drove away... I had to push  ;D

Another knobhead reversing on to the road out of his drive never obviously saw me as I was coming down the bank, I managed to stop about 6 or so inches from his passenger side door. I could not speak when he rolled his window down apologising I was fuming.....

There are stupid drivers as well as cyclists ;)
