I'm sorry to hear about your 'rub'.  It happened to me in a petrol station.  Brand new bumper too.  Old boy made a tight turn round my car and was looking as well!  He tried to spit on the marks and rub them out.  I had to shout at him to leave it alone!  His paint came off but lots of deep scratches, so I wasn't TOO disappointed when the Missus rear-ended someone with it later and I had to have yet another bumper (and bonnet).

ALWAYS take time to get info and pictures if at all possible.  There are lots out there that have no insurance at all.

Well I got a quote of £120 for bumper painting, the woman has now said to go through insurance because she can't afford it.

Insurance just called me back and said they are going to send a mobile repair guy to touch it up or what ever they do, at my home or work. Bit bummed really I was hoping to get the whole bumper done! and I can't say I'm really happy about it just getting blown over, I just hope its better than my expectations.  :'(

Rich

1) Don't let her pay - go through insurance.

2) Don't worry about her dispiuting it. It doesn't matter how close you were parked - SHE HIT YOU, while you were stationary. She hasn't a leg to stand on.

3) If a mobile "touch up" guy comes out, do not settle for anything less than a perfect, A1 repair. If it's not good enough - complain until it is....

I had a whole bumper painted of one of these guys a few years ago on a Rover 800.   He had to paint the full bumper because he could not match the paint.  Not noticeable when whole bumper painted but when just a patch it stood out.  'Chips away' iirc

Hi mate. Can spray your bumper for £80 inc. refitting etc but wiil need the car or bumper for 2 days so the laquer can go off before refitting. Steve will do the work (he's good) & if you leave the car here it will be locked in the workshop til you collect it. I'm guessing your paint code is star silver 1, 2, or3? but we can get that so you get a proper match.
Only problem is ins. won't pay out on an unofficial quote. Just giving you another option matey, tell Amy i love her!!!, Guy. 8-) :y
