mmm slightly off topic .....
We are very new to satellite TV ... just got freesat installed and well pleased with it
SWTSMBO is watching Wimbledon in HD and well chuffed
Question is then .. just how susceptible to interference from Thunderstorms etc is sat TV ??
We've had just one 1/2 second "no signal" as a Herc flew past yesterday, which beats the crappy freeview breakages we got all the time before.
What did you get in the end?
Got the Humax Foxsat PVR, and a local guy did the job ....

I got the dish and fittings (fitted at the back not the front), quad LNB, 2 feeds into lounge, 1 feed into kitchen, and the Foxsat for £575 all in (cash) Invoice says £500 + VAT

.
Pricing up all the bits to DIY came to around £430 + VAT + delivery ..... so by my reckoning it cost me about £50 to have him do the work, line up the thing perfectly and check the install ... foxsat shows 100% signal 100% quality .... I'm well pleased and didn't have to touch a drill or ladder ..
