I'm Back
« on: 27 June 2009, 00:23:35 »

Hi guys,   been ages since I have posted anything on here. Things have been tight all round. Lost my main contract to an outfit that uses "imported labour" for want of a better phrase. Was undercut by 35%  -- unbelieveable !

Things are looking up now though. Main contractor has now come back to me and asked me to "Re-quote" as things have gone totally T#ts up with both quality & target times. Think I will just stick to my original prices  though as "re - quote" sounds like they want some sort of reduction.

Miggy has been stuck on the drive for a few months now, but will be out there cleaning and polishing this weekend, ready to tax it from July.

You should hear a bit more from me now on here now that things have turned the corner.

Any more Essex boys & girls enrolled since I have not been around ?

Hello again Big Al, welcome back! :y :y

Yes I would stick to your guns on your pricing as I suspect from what you say that the potential client has learn't you only get what you pay for and have had a very painful experience!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D :y :y  I would say serves them bloody right! ;D ;D ;D ;D 8-) 8-) 8-)

Just emphasis to them how your outfit is "quality" and will give the client what they really need. 8-) 8-) 8-)

Requote in this instance - add on an extra 10%

Hi Big Al,

another Essex Mig owner here, maybe even have it working again one day  :(

Always add 10% to a re-quote, then you can negotiate back down to original price worst case   ;)

Cool, I was born in Scruffy Braintree and escaped as soon as I could (to Witham not Maldon then).
